Leave Us a Review on Google

A unique cultural connection, Taking this class was the highlight of my trip to Antigua. I never thought I would learn so much about Guatemala’s history and culture while cooking. Preparing pepián and tortillas was incredible, but what impressed me the most was how every ingredient has its own story. I highly recommend this experience!

Emily R.Seattle, EE. UU.

Deliciously unforgettable “I’ve always loved cooking, but this class was something completely different. From the market visit to enjoying the dishes we prepared, it was a full culinary adventure. Now I can say I know how to make Guatemalan tamales, and I have a unique memory to share with my family.

Carlos G.Mexico City, Mexico

This experience was so special that it almost brought tears to my eyes. I learned how to make rellenitos de plátano, something I had never tasted before, and it was absolutely delicious. What I loved the most was how the chef made us feel like part of Guatemalan culture. I can’t wait to come back and learn more!

Sophie LLyon, France

“I took my teenage kids to this class, and it was amazing to see how engaged they were in cooking. They’re not usually excited about these things, but here they enjoyed every minute, especially making tortillas. The class was fun, educational, and so tasty. An unforgettable family activity!”

The Story of Casa San Miguel

The Story of Casa San Miguel

Inspired by my father, the proud owner of a successful bakery in Zacapa, Guatemala, my childhood was marked by the aroma of freshly baked bread and the hustle of artisanal work. Casa San Miguel was born out of that legacy. It is my way of honoring his dedication and love for the craft, while carrying forward the traditions he cherished so deeply.

Here, we don’t just celebrate the art of baking; we have also integrated Guatemala’s rich and vibrant traditional cuisine. From tamales to plantain rellenitos, we teach not only the recipes but also the stories behind each dish. Every class, every preparation, is a tribute to our roots and an invitation for others to become part of our culture.

My goal with Casa San Miguel is simple yet profound: to connect generations, preserve traditions, and share the essence of Guatemala with the world. This space is not just a kitchen; it’s a bridge between the past and the present, a place where every aroma, flavor, and smile tells a story
